Here's how to batch crop multiple photos to a specific ratio, such as 4:3, using iOS Shortcuts.
While we'll focus on the 4:3 ratio, you can also crop to other ratios like 16:9, and I'll show you how to do that as well.
First, install the Shortcuts app.

Crop to 4:3 (Portrait/Landscape compatible)
This shortcut recipe crops landscape photos to 4:3 and portrait photos to 3:4.
(If you are using iOS 14 or earlier, please enable "Settings > Shortcuts > Untrusted Shortcuts".)

How to use
Run the shortcut.
Select the photos you want to crop to 4:3 and tap "Add" in the top right.
The shortcut will run, and once completed, the 4:3 cropped photos will be saved to your album.
Landscape photos are cropped to 4:3, and portrait photos are cropped to 3:4.
Rest assured, the original photos remain untouched.

This shortcut recipe crops any photo, whether landscape or portrait, to a landscape 4:3 ratio.

How to use

The shortcut will run, and once completed, the portrait 3:4 cropped photos will be saved to your album.
Again, rest assured that the original photos remain untouched.
The common photo development size is 4:3, but if you usually take photos with your iPhone in 16:9 or square (square) format, this will be useful when you want to batch crop many photos to 4:3!
How to crop to a specific ratio like 16:9
To crop to a specific ratio like 16:9, please modify parts of the recipe.
In the recipe, you'll find the number "1.333" in several places, and
the number "0.75" also appears.
These are the two values needed when cropping to a 4:3 ratio:
"4 ÷ 3 = 1.333..." and
"3 ÷ 4 = 0.75".
So, for example, if you want to crop to 16:9,
change "1.333" to "1.777" and
"0.75" to "0.563".
Additionally, if you want to crop to 3:2, for example,
change "1.333" to "1.5" and
"0.75" to "0.666" to crop to 3:2.
While these calculations could be incorporated into the shortcut recipe, I've opted for manual input to keep the recipe as simple as possible.
