[iOS 16] Where is "Load Remote Images"? Setting to manually load images in Mail on iPhone

[iOS 16] Where is

The setting to prevent HTML email images from loading in iOS, "Load Remote Images", is a well-known setting, isn't it?

Recently, when I tried to set it up on another iPhone, I couldn't find this setting anywhere!!

It seems that this setting disappeared in iOS 15 and later.

After fiddling around, I found a button that seems to be it, so I'll introduce it.

Conversely, if you want to load email images, click here:

Could this be it?

Open "Settings" > "Mail" > "Privacy Protection" and toggle it on/off.

It's OK if it looks like the following:

Setting for 'Load Remote Images' in iOS 15

I think "Block All Remote Content" here might be a substitute for the traditional "Load Remote Images" setting. (Speculation)

Then, as you can see, email images are no longer loaded!

There are unread images. Load all images.

It displays "There are unread images.", so you just need to tap "Load All Images" only when you want to load them.

While privacy protection seems to be the main point, it also significantly contributes to reducing data usage!

Give it a try.

Even if I press "Load all images", they don't load and become "?"

  • Owner

It's a bit strange for them to become "?".
I feel the cause might be somewhere different from this article.

It's possible that the images in that email are broken in the first place. Do all other emails also show "?"?
