Actual Steps for MNP Transfer to LIBMO (Ribumo) with eSIM

Docomo line's low-cost SIM "LIBMO (Ribumo)" is now eSIM compatible! starting March 26, 2026.
I immediately tried MNP transfer with my iPhone, so I'll introduce the actual steps with screenshots.
Various limited-time campaigns are also being held, and I will also explain how to apply for these campaigns.

Obtain MNP Reservation Number from Current Carrier
When using "MNP" to transfer and keep your current phone number.
You need to obtain an "MNP Reservation Number" from your current carrier.
(LIBMO (Ribumo) does not support MNP One-Stop as of March 2026)
This time I'm transferring from Rakuten Mobile, and I've introduced how to obtain an MNP reservation number from Rakuten Mobile here.
If you are transferring from another carrier, please research separately and prepare your "MNP Reservation Number" and its "Expiration Date".
Provisional Application
Access LIBMO (Ribumo) from here
and proceed with the provisional application.
For provisional application only, it seems fine to use either a PC or a smartphone.
Tap "Apply for LIBMO"
Each LIBMO (Ribumo) campaign can also be applied from this button. Please rest assured.
Select as you prefer.
This time, I selected "Apply for Voice Call SIM", "Nattoku Plan (8GB)", "Do not purchase a smartphone", and tapped "Proceed to application procedure".
Also, applicable campaigns were displayed on this screen. You can apply them by proceeding as is.
It's long, so I've shortened it.
The necessary items for application will be displayed.
Agree and tap "Proceed to application procedure"
Select the SIM format.
This time, I selected "eSIM". For eSIM, enter your smartphone's "EID".
Select the SIM type.
Select "Voice Call SIM".
On the next screen, this time select "Use current phone number as is" and tap "Next".
Enter the "MNP Reservation Number", "Expiration Date", and "Phone Number" obtained from your current carrier and tap "Next".
Select a plan.
This time, I selected "Nattoku Plan 8GB" and tapped "Next".
Select call and other options as you prefer and tap "Proceed to subscriber information registration".
It's long, so I've shortened it.
Enter subscriber information.
It's long, so I've shortened it.

Full Application / Identity Verification
Check your email and open the email titled "[LIBMO] Provisional Application Notification".
I think it's smoother to complete the full application using a smartphone that can read My Number Cards or a smartphone with a camera.
Open the "URL for Full Application" provided in the email.
Set your LIBMO My Page password, email delivery settings, and contract document confirmation method as you prefer, then tap "Proceed to identity verification document registration".
Select the identity verification document registration method.
- Method of entering My Number Card password and reading the IC chip
- Method of reading the IC chip and taking a facial photo
There seem to be two ways. This time, I'll go with method 1.
You will be asked to install an app called "TRUSTDOCK", so let's install it.
(You can delete it once everything is finished)
After installing the app, tapping "Open TRUSTDOCK app" from this screen again started the identity verification process.
I couldn't take screenshots of the TRUSTDOCK app because it's prohibited, but it was just a matter of following the instructions for the following two points.
- Enter My Number Card password (the 6-16 character one including alphabets, not the 4-digit PIN)
- Read My Number Card
Once identity verification is complete, you will automatically be redirected to the LIBMO (Ribumo) page, and it will say "Your identity verification documents have been submitted."
A confirmation email also arrived.
I wondered, "When can I start using eSIM?"
The official website stated, "We will send emails regarding eSIM activation procedures sequentially after 4 PM on the day following the completion of identity verification."(As of March 2026)
LIBMO FAQ | How long does it take to use eSIM after the procedure?
So, let's wait patiently until 4 PM the next day. (If this changes in the future, it would be helpful if you could let me know in the comments)
While waiting, to receive TLC points from LIBMO (Ribumo) campaigns, you need to register for a "TLC account", so let's register for it.
The URL is also included in the email.
TLC Account Registration
To receive TLC points from LIBMO (Ribumo) campaigns, you need to register for "TLC Member Service".
Also, for every 200 yen spent on LIBMO (Ribumo) monthly, you earn 1 TLC point, and 1 TLC point = 1 yen can be used for monthly payments.
Let's register for a TLC account from here.
Enter your "ID (email address)", "Name", etc.
For "Service in use" in the middle, select "LIBMO" and enter your LIBMO "User ID".
This seems to link your member information and award points for campaigns, etc.
It's long, so I've shortened it.
Confirm the details and tap "Proceed to phone verification".
On the next screen, call the phone number displayed on the screen.
The call will disconnect instantly, so there will be no call charges.
This seems to be the login method for TLC Member Service.
TLC account registration is complete.
For some reason, 300 TLC points were awarded upon registration.
It looks like I can use them for LIBMO payments right away.
eSIM Activation
The next day!!
An email arrived exactly at 16:00.
Activation requires a Wi-Fi environment, so let's proceed under a Wi-Fi connection from here.
Open the URL provided in the email you received.
Enter "User ID", "Date of Birth", and "Transfer Phone Number" and tap "Send".
On the next screen, enter the one-time password sent to your email.
(User ID is stated in the email.)
Upon logging in, it was still "Under Review".
After waiting a bit and checking, it changed to "Waiting for activation request", so I tapped "Activation Request".
(According to the screenshot time, around 16:18?)
It showed "Activation request accepted."
I'll wait a little longer.
eSIM Activation (Main Process)
From here, I will proceed according to the steps provided on the official website.
This might be more helpful for Android users.
eSIM Setup Method|Docomo Line Low-Cost SIM/Smartphone LIBMO (Ribumo)
From here, if you are currently using a physical SIM, please proceed after removing the SIM card in advance.
If you are currently using an eSIM, go to iPhone's "Settings > Mobile Data" and
proceed after temporarily turning off your current line.
You don't need to delete the eSIM yet. You can delete it later.
Well, I forgot to do it, but it was fine.
About 1-2 minutes after sending the activation request, a notification arrived on my iPhone, so I tapped it.
If you don't receive a notification, click here
The "Activate eSIM" screen will appear, so tap "Continue".
After "Activating", it will show "Done".
In my case, I forgot to turn off the eSIM beforehand, so I got a screen like this, but I just set it up temporarily.
Download Configuration Profile
You still cannot communicate with just this.
Next, we will download the configuration profile necessary for communication.
Select iOS or Android from the page below
eSIM Setup Method|Docomo Line Low-Cost SIM/Smartphone LIBMO (Ribumo)
Tap "Download Configuration Profile".
I'll also put the links here
iOS: Download Configuration Profile
Android: APN Settings
For iOS, access the URL to download the configuration profile.
I'll also put the link here
iOS: https://www.libmo.jp/ios/
For Android, you will need to enter it manually, referring to the APN Settings page.
From here on, it's for "iOS" for a while. (Android users should have already completed APN manual entry)
"Allow" the configuration profile download and download it.
Open Settings and tap "Downloaded Profile".
Follow the on-screen instructions to install.
This completes the installation of the configuration profile.
Let's try turning off Wi-Fi and checking if you can view websites.
If you were originally using an eSIM, delete the eSIM from your previous carrier.
You can delete it from "Settings > Mobile Data > (Previous Carrier) > Delete eSIM".
After installing the LIBMO (Ribumo) configuration profile, 4 shortcuts were added.
(I wish they wouldn't do this...)
Anyway, with this, the MNP transfer to LIBMO (Ribumo) with eSIM is complete!
Good job!
