Story of My Package Being Returned Due to 2kg Overweight with Yu-Packet Post
I shipped a heavy package using Mercari.
Since I don't have an accurate scale for over 1kg at home, the product spec was 1.9kg, and the packaging material was 102g, so I mailed a package that was theoretically 2.002kg...
It was returned...
It wasn't even handed directly by a post office worker; it was just put into my mailbox.
'If it weren't the rainy season, it might have passed...' I thought.
In the case of anonymous shipping services like "Yu-Yu Mercari Mail" or Yahoo! Flea Market's "Otegaru Delivery", if this happens, one of the following actions is required:
- Discuss with the buyer and ask for their address to ship by another method.
- Discuss with the buyer, cancel the transaction once, change the shipping method, and have them relist and repurchase.
This time, I chose option 2.
Anonymous shipping offers peace of mind for both parties, and flea market anonymous shipping tends to have lower costs.
Also, as shown in the photo, the shipping label cannot be reused.
In this case, it refers to the "Yu-Packet Post dedicated sticker (¥5)".
If it's overweight, anonymous shipping with Japan Post will become "Yu-Pack".
On the other hand, Yamato Transport's "Takkyubin Compact" has no weight limit.(As of June 2026)
So, if the size allows, "Takkyubin Compact" is recommended, and I used it too.
