Switching to OCN Mobile at a Docomo Shop was completed on the same day [Experience report]

I completed the transfer procedure from Docomo's Giga Plan to OCN Mobile at a Docomo Shop.
I made an appointment in advance, and the result was that it was completed in about an hour.
I'll make a note of the detailed circumstances and points to note.

Background/Requirements
This time, I went to switch my wife's father's smartphone from Docomo's "Giga Light (3,465 yen)" to "OCN Mobile ONE (990 yen)."
The prices in parentheses are examples.
Other requirements were as follows.
- Change contract only (no smartphone purchase)
- Keep phone number, MNP transfer
- Also have smartphone SIM lock unlocked※
- Docomo Mail Portability
※I was told that only unlocking the SIM would cost 3000 yen, so we did it ourselves at the counter.
You can find out how to do it quickly, and the staff also watched over us.
Docomo Mail Portability means that if you cancel Docomo, your email address (@docomo.ne.jp) will become unusable, but you can use it by paying 330 yen per month. That's what it is.
At the store, they only explained the application procedure, and I set it up myself in the Gmail app later.
You can also find out how to do that quickly.
Actually, everything should be doable online, but there was a family discount remaining with my father-in-law and my wife's siblings, a Docomo Hikari discount, and my father-in-law was the representative for consolidated billing, etc., so I kept getting errors like "Cannot proceed with the procedure" from My docomo and couldn't move forward.
So, we decided to have my mother-in-law switch to Rakuten Mobile first, and my father-in-law would do it at a Docomo Shop.
As a result, it was the right decision to go, as activation was completed in about an hour.
Points to Note
In order of importance, here they are.
- Docomo Mail will become unusable
- Make an appointment
- Required documents
- Is there a family discount remaining?
- Clarify your d Account ID and password
- Decide what to contract to some extent
I will write in detail.
Docomo Mail will become unusable
I believe this is also written on other sites.
If you cancel Docomo, Docomo Mail will become unusable, so either switch everything to "Gmail" or apply for "Docomo Mail Portability."
Make an appointment
It was empty when I went in the morning during Golden Week, but you should make a reservation.
Required documents
My driver's license and a credit card for the contract were sufficient.
If the address on your identity verification document differs from your residential address, supplementary documents will be required. For details, please see here.
Is there a family discount remaining?
In my case, a family discount remained with my wife's siblings (living separately).
I thought Docomo's family discount was for 3 lines or more, so I didn't think it would apply, but it seems there's a 550 yen discount even for 2 lines(for details).
If there's a possibility, check with your family in advance to see if it's okay to proceed.
Clarify your d Account ID and password
If you use Docomo, you probably use many Docomo services such as d Points and d Pay.
It seems that verifying your d Account becomes difficult if you cancel Docomo.
So, at the counter, I was asked, "Could you please check if you can log in to your d Account in your browser one more time?"
Make sure your d Account ID and password are clear, whether it's written on paper or anything else.
Decide what to contract to some extent
In my case, I had decided on "OCN Mobile 3GB," "no unlimited calls," and "Docomo Mail Portability," so it was smooth.
That concludes my experience report on switching from a Docomo line to OCN Mobile at a Docomo Shop.
Treat yourself once a month.
