Included in the package are the PC unit, a charging cable (USB-C), and the instruction manual, among other things.

The PC unit itself feels like a very standard business laptop.

The display is high-resolution at 2240 x 1400, and although I've set the scaling to 125%, the text is small enough to open many windows, which is great.

The non-glare finish is also good as it prevents reflections.

The keyboard is also a very standard Japanese layout.
It doesn't feel like a US layout forcibly converted to Japanese.

However, it's worth noting that the power button is in this position.
It doesn't respond to a single press; you need to press and hold it slightly, so it's not a major inconvenience.

The key travel is very shallow. However, the crisp, tactile feedback is quite pleasant.

Crucial for clamshell mode, here are the USB-C ports.
The front one (left in the photo) is Thunderbolt™ 4 with USB Type-C® 40Gbps
The back one (right in the photo) is USB Type-C® 10Gbps.
Both can handle display output, data transfer, and power delivery, but the front USB-C port (left in the photo) offers higher performance.

It's also subtly nice to have a standard HDMI port.

On the opposite side, there's a USB-A port and a headphone jack. (Photo omitted)

A 100W charging cable is included, but it's quite bulky. I probably won't use it...

For clamshell operation, you can power it from the display, and

If you have a slightly higher wattage AC adapter, it's convenient because you can also use it with your smartphone charger.

Confirmed that it can be charged with the above charger.

By the way, here's how it compares to my "MacBook Pro 13-inch Mid 2014".
The width is almost the same, but the OmniBook 7 14 is taller.

The MacBook Pro is thinner. The OmniBook 7 14 has larger rubber feet on the bottom, which also contributes to its height.

Connecting to a Monitor

Now, let's connect it to a monitor.

I'm using a DELL U2723QE, a 4K 27-inch monitor, which has a USB-C port on the back, so I'll connect it there.

(USB-C Upstream / Power Delivery DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode (Max Output 90W, HDCP 2.2))

I've included a link to a similar current model.

Connect to the laptop's USB-C port.

The front USB-C port (left in the photo) has higher performance, but I mistakenly plugged it into the back port, lol.

Even with the back port, power delivery, display output, and data transfer work, and the charging indicator light is on.

All done with just one USB-C cable! I'm happy about that.

The included charger is 100W, but the monitor provides 90W of power, so it shows 'slow charging,' but it charges without any issues.

To use it in clamshell mode, go to "Settings > System > Power & battery > Lid, power & sleep buttons" and set "When I close the lid" to "Do nothing".

This way, the PC will remain on even when closed, but only when connected to a monitor.

In the case of HP, "HP" software is pre-installed, allowing you to set the battery charge limit to a maximum of 80%.

For clamshell operation, the PC will generally remain plugged in, so I recommend turning this feature on to prevent battery degradation.

Applying a Screen Protector Film

Finally, I'll apply a screen protector film.

This is what I purchased for the OmniBook 7 14.

When aligned perfectly with the bottom left, the top right has this much margin.
It's a perfect fit for this model.

By carefully removing dust with cellophane tape, I was able to apply it neatly.

There's no visible difference, and I don't notice any degradation in image quality.

It's recommended for anyone who wants to keep their device looking pristine.

Summary
