[iOS] Solved: My story of panic when trying dual SIM with Rakuten Mobile and getting

I was originally using Rakuten Mobile with eSIM, and this time I decided to add a LinksMate physical SIM to set up dual SIM.

More details on that below.

During that setup, LinksMate connected, but Rakuten Mobile showed "Searching" or "No Service" and wouldn't connect.

I'll make a note of how I resolved it in my case.

Conclusion

To get straight to the point, before installing the profile for the newly added "LinksMate":

From "Settings" > "Mobile Data" > "Mobile Data", with "LinksMate" selected

Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data

I had to install the LinksMate profile.

Install profile

If you need to redo it, first uninstall the LinksMate profile, then install it again following the correct procedure.

Looking at the Rakuten Mobile official site, it says:

【Caution】

・Do not install the MVNO profile with Rakuten line selected in "Mobile Data" in step 2.

That's what it said.

How it became "No Service"

Let me reiterate the steps I took that led to "No Service" or "Searching".

I had been using Rakuten Mobile with eSIM, and this time I bought an additional LinksMate physical SIM.

Insert the received SIM into the smartphone

Insert LinksMate physical SIM into iPhone

Download LinksMate profile

Download LinksMate APN configuration profile

Then this happened

Then this happened

Install profile from Settings
(Before this, I should have switched the line)

Then, LinksMate connected, but Rakuten Mobile remained "Searching" or became "No Service"...

Thinking this was bad, I reissued Rakuten Mobile's eSIM and went astray in various ways.

I hope this helps.

I was having trouble with one side losing service when switching my iPhone SE3, which was operating with eSIM (Rakuten) + physical SIM (OCN), to an eSIM (Rakuten) + eSIM (Rakuten) configuration.

By deleting the OCN profile, both eSIMs became usable.

    Thanks to this article.

(It's a shame that my plan to buy a sub-device, which I was about to click, fell through...)

The situation is a bit different from this article.

So you needed to uninstall the unnecessary OCN profile.

    Thank you for the report!

(You wanted a sub-device, huh? lol)

    Th-thank you for the report!

I can't answer "It's not working. What should I do?", but
I'd appreciate any feedback like "My environment was different!". Please feel free to comment.
