Actual steps for using Orix CarShare via Rakuten CarShare

Booking

First, access Rakuten CarShare and make a reservation.

Select date, time, and area, then "Search"

This time, I'll be renting this Solio.

Enter reservation details and tap "Next"

I couldn't prepare a screenshot, but I believe that for first-time users, you'll be asked to agree to Orix CarShare's terms of service.

Confirm your reservation details and tap "Confirm Reservation"

This completes your reservation.

(First time only) Electronic key registration

For Orix CarShare, you need to register an electronic key in advance for the first time only.

You will need to call an operator at the location.

This is to use your Suica, a credit card with touch functionality, or these registered in your iPhone Wallet or Android Osaifu-Keitai as a key for unlocking and locking.

Regarding the timing for electronic key registration, it's okay to do it right before you get in the car, but we recommend doing it with plenty of time, such as the day before your ride or about an hour before.

Since it's done by phone, there's a possibility that you might not get through, or you might not be able to register if another person is using the car share and the actual car is not available.

The approximate steps are:

Provide your name and date of birth for identity verification

Select the card to register as a key

Touch the car share vehicle

This is the flow.

Once registered, you can unlock the car by simply touching the same card from the next time onwards.

How to unlock

Now, let's get in the car.

If no one was renting it immediately before you, with Orix CarShare, you can get in 15 minutes before your reserved time. This period is not charged, so it's a bit of a bonus.

How many minutes before the scheduled start time can I pick up the car?

Move the pylon in front of the car.

Go to the back of the car and locate the "IC Touch Here!" sign.

Touch the card registered as an electronic key twice.

When you touch it the first time, the hazard lights of your reserved car will flash.

Touch it a second time to unlock the car.

If there are several cars of the same model, I believe the first touch is to identify your reserved car.

Get inside the car, find the car key in the passenger-side glove compartment, turn it to "Lend" and pull it out.

When getting in and out of the car during your rental, use this car key to unlock and lock it.

You only turn this when you start renting the car share and when you return it.

Once you've taken the car out, block off the parking space with the pylon.

How to lock

Here's how to lock the car when returning it.

Once you've returned the car to the station,

Insert the key into the passenger-side glove compartment and turn it to "Return".

Check for any forgotten items, then exit the car.

Go to the back of the car and touch the electronic key to the "IC Touch Here!" sign.

You'll hear a "click" sound, and the car will be locked.

A return confirmation email will be sent from Rakuten CarShare, so please check it.

How to refuel

How to refuel 【Rakuten CarShare】

Refuel using the fuel card (AMS card) located in the sun visor above the driver's seat.

You can refuel at the following gas stations:

• ENEOS
• Cosmo Oil
• Showa Shell Sekiyu
• Esso
• Mobil
• General

If it's not self-service, just hand the card to the attendant.

If it's self-service, just insert the card, and it will automatically go to the fuel type selection screen.

You do not need to pay for gasoline.

After refueling, keep the receipt tucked into the sun visor along with the fuel card.
