I measured the power consumption of Dell's 4K monitor "U2718QM".

Does having 4 times the pixels mean it consumes 4 times the power of an FHD monitor...?

Here is the power consumption when the contrast was set to 50% and the brightness was varied.

Dell U2718QM

Brightness 60% Around 27W to 28W
Brightness 50% Around 25W to 26W
Brightness 40% Around 23W to 24W
During sleep 0W

These were the results.

The power consumption of monitors is generally said to be 10-40W, but
it may not be particularly high just because it's 4K.

Also, there is an opinion that the power consumption of monitors varies greatly depending on the refresh rate,
so it might be the refresh rate rather than the resolution.

By the way, assuming an average of 25W, 8 hours of work costs about 5.2 yen.
