I measured the standby power and power consumption of Synology's 2-bay NAS server "DS216j".
Here is the power meter I used.

Results
Standby power is 5W
When HDD is active: 16W
During read/write: 18W.
Electricity Bill
Assuming standby power is "5W", and calculating with "35 yen/1kWh" considering recent electricity price hikes:
4.2 yen per day
126 yen per 30 days
1,533 yen per year.
Since this is just a calculation of standby power, the actual cost will likely be a bit higher.
If you are looking for low power consumption, you could use a 1-bay model, or
You can also set up schedule settings (e.g., shutdown time, startup time).

I thought replacing with an SSD would also lead to lower power consumption, but
from what I've briefly researched, depending on usage, HDDs can sometimes consume less power than SSDs.
