How to use Sony headphones "WH-H910N" for voice chat on PS4

I recently replaced my wired MDR-H600A headphones with the WH-H910N.
I wanted wireless headphones, so I bought these, but I was curious if they could be used for voice chat on PS4.
Since PS4 cannot use Bluetooth audio devices, you need to prepare a separate microphone or make various arrangements with wired cables.

Introducing "Geekria Clip-on Microphone"
First, let me tell you that it worked by buying this product.
It's a product called "Geekria QuickFit Clip-on Microphone Condenser Microphone Lapel Microphone Mini Microphone Clip-on Smartphone Microphone Headphone Cable Compatible with Skullcandy Headsets for Gaming and Meetings with 3.5mm Boom Microphone Replacement Cord Volume/Mute Control (170 cm)". (Name too long)

I purchased it from Geekria official website.
It's quickest to look at the product image, but the headphone side has a 3-pole jack, and the device side has a 4-pole jack.

So, you just need to connect the headphones and the PS4 controller using this.

With this, voice chat worked without any problems.
There are no issues with sound quality either. In fact, it's quite good.
By the way, there's also a controller attached in the middle of the cable, allowing you to turn the microphone on/off and adjust the volume.

it states.
In this article, I tested it with "WH-H910N", but it seems to be compatible with many other Sony headphones as well.
(Bonus) Record of making it work by splicing existing cables
Before buying the Geekria product mentioned earlier, I was able to do voice chat by splicing existing cables.

I'll also include the method I used at that time, just in case.
The necessary cables are as follows:
- AUX cable (the one included with the headphones)
- Microphone
- A splitter that branches a 4-pole earphone jack (male) into microphone and audio (female)
- A splitter that branches a 4-pole earphone jack (female) into microphone and audio (male)
First, check the actual device
The WH-H910N can be used wired with the included AUX cable.

Of course, you can hear sound with this, so if you're not voice chatting, this is fine.
To voice chat, a separate earphone and microphone splitter cable is required.
Prepare a microphone and splitter cable
What you need is:
A microphone like this,
BUFFALO Microphone AUX Mini Clip Black BSHSM03BK
And a cable like this.
3.5mm 4-pole Headphone/Microphone Splitter Cable: 3.5mm 4-pole (male) - 3.5mm Headphone (female) & 3.5mm Microphone (female) [COMON brand]
Connect these

like this

I thought this would work...!
But the microphone didn't respond...
I could hear sound, but the microphone didn't respond.
If I tried it with an iPhone or similar, the microphone would work.
Prepare another cable
So, in desperation, I used this one I had on hand

I tried connecting something like this as an intermediary for the microphone.
Audio Conversion Cable MillSO 3.5mm Audio Splitter Cable (4-pole female - 3-pole male, x2) 3-pole 4-pole Conversion Ultra Durable [Conversion Cable for using earphones with mic on PC] Y Splitter 20cm
Like this

Then it worked!!! It's a bit messy, though.
I feel like buying the Geekria from the start would have been cheaper, lol.
If you have a lot of audio conversion cables, it might be worth a try.
That concludes the experiment on using "WH-H910N" for PS4 voice chat.
I hope this was helpful.
