Encountered a phenomenon where site settings in the admin screen of WordPress.com (Cloud Version) could not be opened due to a '500 error'.

It opened after enabling XML-RPC

In my case, I had the security plugin "All-in-One Security" installed, and when I turned "Completely block access to XML-RPC" to "Off",

The settings screen became accessible!

This screen seems to require XML-RPC.
