How to migrate WordPress using All in One Migration and FTP without increasing the maximum upload file size
When migrating WordPress, I mainly use
- Migrate with database and FTP
- Migrate using All in One Migration
one of the following methods,
The **former cannot be done without database permissions**,
and the **latter often requires changing the upload limit**.
Therefore,
I will introduce a hybrid method where you **export only SQL data with All in One Migration and upload the data via FTP**.

Pre-work confirmation
Check the upload limit of the new environment
Open the All in One Migration import screen in the new environment
Check the "Maximum upload file size" here.
Check the size of the SQL data in the old environment
Next, open the **Export screen** of All in One Migration in the old environment.
Check the boxes as shown below and click "File".
(In some cases, "Post Revisions" might also be exported.)
Then, the download size of the **SQL** data will be displayed.
If the "Download size" here is **smaller** than the "Upload limit" mentioned earlier, you can use this method.
Please download it and proceed.
Upload data via FTP
Upload the entire contents of /wp-content/ from the old environment to the same directory in the new environment.
As a precaution, make sure to back up /wp-content/ in the new environment before proceeding.
Import SQL data
Open the All in One Migration import screen in the new environment and import the exported data you just downloaded.
Once completed, click "Save Permalink Structure" as a precaution.
This should complete your WordPress migration.
